Christine Balich

I cut my teeth from deep inside the Chicago suburbs on a Polaroid One-Step my parents gave me in the early 80s and photography's been my elixir ever since. My post-university aspirations sent me headlong to Los Angeles, where I now live, work, and occasionally play pondering often the degree in which my subject material has changed over the years. I see the world more clearly from behind a polished lens and engage my surroundings most accordingly through composition and only after several hours in a darkroom. If I meet you, I may ask you to talk to my camera. Regardless, I'll understand you better if I shoot you. (Don't take that the wrong way.)

I live for great photographic opportunities of all kinds, and my photos represent a world that is very real and straightforward to me. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy capturing it.

Please inquire for additional samples, my portfolio, rates, and so forth. I'd love to hear from you.
